Driving on Behalf of the Project
DMV Checks - CORESCREENING
Employees/volunteers who drive on behalf of the project must confirm they have been a licensed driver for at least three years, and they must consent to a motor vehicle report screening PRIOR to driving for the project. Specifically, we need to complete DMV checks for folks who:
1) drive regularly (more than once a month) for project activities or business to locations other than the project location or worksite (i.e. making deliveries, transporting others, making external site vitis, etc.);
2) transport youth for the project;
3) drive for project trips outside of the project’s city/state and/or for multi-day trips, or
4) drive SGF/project owned vehicles or vehicles that are leased or rented by SGF/the project.
We utilize a service called CORESCREENING. To submit a request for a DMV check through CORESCREENING, please complete the Background and DMV Check Request. Please note that the invitation email will be from Social Good Fund with the subject line, “Social Good Fund MVR Questionnaire Notification.”
Once the DMV check is completed, your project account will be billed by Social Good Fund. The processing fee depends on the individual’s state.
Please note that some instances will prevent us from approving an individual to drive on behalf of the project. Examples include but are not limited to one or more in the last three years: driving while intoxicated, driving while under the influence of drugs, negligent homicide arising out of use of a motor vehicle (Gross Negligence), operating a motor vehicle for the commission of a felony, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s authority (Grand Theft), permitting an unlicensed person to drive, reckless driving, speeding contest, and hit & run driving.
Important Note: when an individual is driving their own vehicle (or the vehicle of a friend/family member), the vehicle’s insurance is primary in an accident. (Social Good Fund’s insurance may be secondary.) When an individual is driving an SGF-owned or leased vehicle, Social Good Fund’s insurance is primary.
