I’m thinking about applying for 501(c)(3) status for my project. What is SGF’s involvement in this process? Very little. Becoming a 501(c)(3) is your choice. Please contact socialgood@socialgoodfund.org to discuss your application for your organization’s own 501(c)(3).
Can I convert my Model C project to a Model A project? In most cases, yes. Contact: socialgood@socialgoodfund.org
Can I convert my Model A project to a Model C project? Maybe. Assets of a Model A project can only be reassigned to another 501(c)(3). Contact: socialgood@socialgoodfund.org
Can my project “go dormant” ie. not do any activities and not pay the monthly admin cost for a certain period of time? No. As long as you have a signed agreement in place, we consider the project to be active and responsible until the agreement is terminated or transferred to a successor 501(c)(3).
How do I calculate mileage costs if my project requires me to drive a car? Please see federal guidelines for reimbursement rates.
Can I register for a free nonprofit Salesforce account? Unfortunately, Salesforce limits the free licenses to 10 per tax ID and they are currently in use for SGF. They do offer discounted pricing which varies per product. You can learn more and/or chat with someone by visiting this page.
Can my project qualify for free Google for nonprofit G-suite access? No. Unfortunately, Google does not provide online tools for sub-accounts registered under the Social Good Fund Tax ID.
