Corporate Sponsorships
You may accept corporate sponsorships provided the following:
1. The sponsor will not be selling anything to participants.
2. There is no expectation on the sponsor’s part that your project will be performing any work for the corporate donor, including marketing work or promotion of products. It is expected that you will thank your donors, including publicly thanking them for their donation. However, it is not appropriate to promote the sponsor's products. The spirit of the payment should be to further your project’s mission, not the sponsor’s business objectives. Performing a fee-for-service for a for-profit entity may result in taxable, unrelated business income, which SGF does not support. If you are not sure or have any questions regarding potential tax ramifications of corporate sponsorships, please contact: accounts@socialgoodfund.org
3. You are exercising good judgement in selecting sponsors to be associated with, and avoiding accepting sponsorship payments from companies whose business practices conflict with your mission or the mission of SGF. If you have any questions or want to discuss corporate sponsorships, please contact: socialgood@socialgoodfund.org
