Grants or Donations/Financial Contributions to a Person or Other 501(c)(3) Organization

You CANNOT make grants to individuals, unless you have a pre-approved grant/aid to individuals or scholarship program in place. Please reach out to socialgood@socialgoodfund.orgenvelope to discuss whether an individual grants or scholarship program is feasible for your needs. (Note for such a program you would need to have documentation showing selection criteria with a charitable purpose, selection committee/process, and an application process, all of which SGF would need to review.)

When donating to other nonprofits, it is up to you whether you want to do a straight donation , or have a grantmaking process with reporting requirements.

If you want to make donations to other 501c3 nonprofits, complete a Donation Request Formarrow-up-right and attach it, in lieu of an invoice, to the invoice payment formarrow-up-right, selecting “Domestic Support to 501c3” as the payment type. The donations should be to other groups whose missions align with your own (or for a purpose aligning with your own). Of course you will need to have funds that aren't restricted for another purpose and are available to donate. Please do not use a BREX or PEX payment card, or other credit card, to process a donation to another organization. They need to be processed via the invoice payment form. Likewise, project representatives who use personal funds to make a donation cannot receive reimbursements for such payments. If you'd like to do more of a formalized grantmaking program with other 501c3 nonprofits (requiring reporting on how funds are spent, etc.) that is possible, and would involve entering into grant agreements with each of the other nonprofits you want to grant to. If so, please contact socialgood@socialgoodfund.org and we can advise you and provide a template.
