Restaurants, food deliveries (GrubHub, Door Dash), and grocery stores are eligible expenses when an individual is traveling away from home for project-related business. Food can also be eligible when purchased for a meeting or event. Food is not an eligible expense unless it is while traveling for work or for a meeting or event. Consult the government’s GSA rates to determine a reasonable amount to spend on food per person per day (these should typically be under the listed per-diem rates).
